Golfing for Good: 23rd Annual Verizon Hope Classic

More than 140 golfers hit the links at the beautiful Somerset Hills Country Club (SHCC) on Monday, September 12, to benefit JBWS. This record-breaking event, known as the Verizon Hope Classic presented by Accenture and Juniper Networks, raised $255,000 for people impacted by domestic violence.

While Somerset Hills Country Club is rated a top 100 golf course and Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) tournaments have been held there, no golfing prowess was required to attend. Golfers could participate in a Best Ball of Four golf outing, a 90-minute golf clinic taught by Somerset Hills Country Club professionals, or both!

“I enjoyed spending a beautiful day on a challenging course with good friends,” says Valerie Murray, member of JBWS’ board of directors. “It is one of my favorite ways to support JBWS, an organization that provides much needed services to those impacted by domestic violence.”

In addition to a golf outing and clinic, attendees could participate in a silent auction, enjoy cocktails, and share meals with their friends.

“It was a great event. The venue was gorgeous, the golfers had so much fun, and the auction had a ton of wonderful prizes, “says Diane Williams, President and CEO of JBWS. “Thank you to Verizon, Accenture, and Juniper Networks for sponsoring this event. We couldn’t have done it without you!”
