JBWS is a private, nonprofit agency that provides safety, support, and solutions for abuse for anyone who faces the issues of intimate partner abuse regardless of severity of the abuse, marital status, income, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnicity. JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Training Manager will be responsible for directing, delivering and coordinating internal and external training activities on behalf of JBWS.  The position will also positively promote the awareness of Domestic Violence to organizations and community partners.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support and training to community partners to improve early identification and intervention in domestic violence cases, particularly in the fields of health and human services, education, religion, and law enforcement.
  • Develop learning objectives, curriculum content, presentation materials and handouts for specific groups on DV related topics.
  • Solicit and respond to all requests for domestic violence-related training to community partners and college students in pre-professional programs.
  • Coordinate implementation of the 40-hour training program as well as DV 101 and continuing education opportunities for staff, interns and volunteers.
  • Communicate any concerns or professional development needs of volunteers participating in the training to the Volunteer and CRT Managers.
  • Promote JBWS programs and services through participation in community events, trainings and other relevant activities.
  • Participate in relevant community-based committees to enhance relationships and facilitate referrals.
  • Participate in and contribute to a healthy work environment and positive agency morale.

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS include but are not limited to:

  • Master’s degree preferred in social work, counselling, psychology or related field or equivalent lived and work experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative, curriculum development and coordination skills.
  • Good working knowledge of audio-visual technology.
  • Experience in domestic violence field preferred.
  • A valid New Jersey Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
