JOB DESCRIPTION
JBWS is seeking two dynamic, dedicated Domestic Violence Liaisons (DVL) for our Passaic County Program. Our DVL is an on-site position located within the Passaic County DCP&P office and JBWS location. In addition, this individual will focus on improving outcomes for children and their non offending parent/guardian in domestic violence situations. Our ideal candidate will provide on-site case consultation to the DCP&P staff and support and advocacy for the nonoffending parent and their children with the goal of increasing safety, stability and well-being. This individual will have knowledge and understanding of the experiences of marginalized communities, working collaboratively and flexibly to meet the needs of those served.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to: Partner with DCP&P case workers on site and on home visits to assist DCP&P case workers in identifying domestic violence within the family dynamic and developing case plans that support increased safety and awareness. Model best practice in working with families in domestic violence situations. Through case consultation and staff presentations, educate and mentor DCP&P local staff in their efforts to identify individual needs and offer appropriate interventions to address those needs. Provide training to local DCP&P offices per DCF standards and in response to DCP&P office needs. Provide clear and concise documentation in accordance with DCP&P and JBWS standards. Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings, regular supervision, community and agency events and activities and required training. Collaborate effectively across programs to ensure needs of the clients are met.
QUALIFICATIONS
Include but are not limited to:
MA and Domestic Violence experience, BA and three years’ experience in Domestic Violence or AA and five years’ experience in Domestic Violence. Certification as a DV Specialist by the NJ Board of DV Professionals preferred or completion within one year of employment. 40-hour DV training is preferred or will train upon hire. Bilingual English/Spanish (verbal, written, reading) required. Excellent communication skills including empathic listening and clear and concise documentation. Ability to build and maintain partnership with community partners. Ability to multitask and effectively manage interruptions while performing duties. Experience utilizing crisis management and de-escalation techniques. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS: This position is full-time 35-hour per week with some evenings as required. Four days a week at the local DCP&P office and one day on site at JBWS location.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Full time salary range $53K – $55K. This position also offers a benefits package including an employee wellness program, medical, dental, vision, life, LTD, EAP, 403B and generous time off.
