POSITION OVERVIEW

The Clinician for the Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) program will primarily work with children and families, providing strength-based, non-judgmental, client-centered services to those impacted by domestic violence. The position requires the provision of individual, family, and group counseling, including facilitation of psychoeducational counseling groups, case management and advocacy, as well as enrichment and special event activities for children and families. Our ideal candidate has a deep knowledge and understanding of the experiences of marginalized communities, working collaboratively and flexibly with clients and team members to meet the needs of those served; and is knowledgeable about how trauma impacts children and families. Candidates not certified in TF-CBT will be sponsored by the agency for the certification upon hire. Clinical hours and supervision provided for licensed professionals.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Provide trauma-informed and strengths-based interventions with awareness of the impact of trauma on family dynamics.
  • Work primarily with children according to the TF-CBT model.
  • Conduct assessments as required for TF-CBT services.
  • Conduct screening, intake and discharge interviews with children and non-offending caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records for individuals, groups and/or families in accordance with policy.
  • Conduct sessions at JBWS offices, community locations or virtually in accordance with what will best meet the family’s needs.
  • Advocate and support client centered success.
  • Link to community resources and supports.
  • Attend staff meetings and supervision as required.
  • Participate in and contribute to a healthy working environment and positive agency morale.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS include but are not limited to:

  • Master’s degree in social work or related field with LSW/LAC, required.
  • TF-CBT certified preferred but not necessary, the agency will sponsor training in TF-CBT.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish (speaking, reading, writing) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing services related to early childhood development, parenting skills, and family interventions.
  • Understanding of the impact domestic violence and trauma on adults and children.
  • Ability to effectively and independently make decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 40-hour domestic violence training provided upon hire.
