JBWS is a private, nonprofit agency that provides safety, support, and solutions for abuse for anyone who faces the issues of intimate partner abuse regardless of severity of the abuse, marital status, income, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, or ethnicity. JOB DESCRIPTION
JBWS in Morris County is seeking a dynamic, committed full-time Director of Development that will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive major donor fundraising program designed to meet revenue goals of JBWS. Fundraising Strategy and Execution, Events and Campaigns, Communications and Marketing as well as Leadership and Engagement.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- A. Develop and execute a strategic, diversified fundraising plan to meet annual revenue and capital campaign goals.
- B. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, foundations and corporate partners.
- C. Lead planning and execution of fundraising campaigns.
- D. Oversee year end appeal and other fundraising campaigns, ensuring compelling messaging and multi-channel outreach.
- E. Support VP of Development and President/CEO in capital campaign and agency expansion efforts.
- F. Work collaboratively with the Communications Director to develop strategic communications to engage donors and raise visibility.
- G. Responsible for regular reporting to VP of Development and strategic input to Leadership Team.
- H. Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the mission and values of JBWS.
QUALIFICATIONS
Include but are not limited to:
- Required:
- A. Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit development, with a successful track record of fundraising and major gifts success.
- B. Demonstrated experience with individual giving, donor cultivation, and capital campaigns.
- C. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- D. Proficiency in donor database systems and digital fundraising tools. Raiser’s Edge experience a plus.
- E. Strong organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
- F. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- G. Commitment to the mission of ending domestic violence.
- Preferred:
- A. Experience working in domestic violence or social services sector.
- B. Supervisory or team management experience.
- C. Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and community-based advocacy.
SCHEDULE:
Full time 35 per week, hybrid flexible 4 or 5 day work week options available. Evenings and weekends as needed for special events and/or activities.

COMPENSATION
Full-time exempt position, salary range between $85K and $100K based on experience.
