Full-time case manager in JBWS’ Transitional Living Program – BSW or related degree required. Monday through Friday, including two evenings. Provides support and advocacy for residential clients. Includes responsibilities for crisis intervention, case management, intakes, helpline, exit paperwork and security. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Include FT-CASE in subject line. EOE

Secretary/Receptionist in domestic violence safe house.  Monday-Friday business hours. Duties include answering telephones, maintaining office supplies, agency mail, clerical tasks and administrative projects, answering the domestic violence helpline. Associates degree or related education/experience. Candidate must have good interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Include this code in the subject line: SEC. Email or fax to 973-605-5898. EOE

Bilingual Legal Advocate: 

Full time position.  Responsible for providing legal advocacy services to battered women, including Spanish speaking clients.  Duties include:  providing legal information regarding the Prevention of Domestic Violence Act (PDVA) and related statutes to domestic violence victims, preparation for Temporary and Final Restraining Order Hearings, advocacy and resources.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree.  Candidate must have good verbal and written communications skills, good with time management and advocacy.  Must be fluent in Spanish and English. Include this code in subject line: BLA. EOE

Per diem positions in Safe House

including day, evening and overnight (awake position). Seeking per diem advocate to provide support and advocacy for residential clients. Responsibilities include helpline, crisis intervention, intake, assessment and security cameras. BSW or related degree is required. Include this code in subject line: RESCOUN. EOE

Student Internship Opportunities

JBWS utilizes between five and eight interns in several JBWS programs during the school year. In general, JBWS interns are first or second year master's level students in Social Work or Counseling. Most of the internships are for clinical positions and we sometimes have a need for administrative interns. All interns must complete a 40+ hours training program provided by JBWS. Prospective interns should work through their school internships programs.
